"I will never regret my decision to become a full pledge Nurse".Almost a decade ago when I gave up my dream job in exchange for this noble calling, I don't know why but all I know was the need for fulfillment- the fulfillment of my humble profession- to become a Nurse.It's been my hardest decision because I’m in a better position in my previous company yet here I am planning to start all over again.But the calling was pushing me and brought me in my decision to left the company. As I left the family I used to have I told them that someday you will understand and realize why I'm doing this.I made my decision, and now working and practicing my profession as a nurse. Yes, it's really hard to start again but I'm certain to go on and be responsible for the decision I made. Until such time that I am so stressed up in the hospital environment and planning to just gave up everything, but one thing reminds me, back then before making this far, and these are to stand up, go on and Pray because I know that there are reasons and purpose why I am here right now.Until this year 2020, COVID 19 erupts, introducing itself to the world and destroy many lives in a snap. And this adds up and made me realized the purpose of why I am here. Who else could play a vital role but us front-liners the so-called modern-day heroes.What is fascinating me right now is the feeling of being much appreciated by my patients. Yes, I never felt this like before and honestly it's priceless- especially for every "thank you” I received from them, it means a lot.This drives me to push my utmost care to my patients whether they have diabetes, cancer, or even COVID 19. I will be there for them no matter what for I am their caring Nurse.I never thought that I will be this significant. I feel so fulfilled, considering all the appreciation and support from my family and countrymen. The recognition to us Nurses, that we can also make a difference especially during this time of pandemic made me realized that I am on the right path. Salute to all my co front-liners, may we continue to inspire and touch other lives with our simple acts of care.I finally can say that I make a difference and forever be grateful for it.This is your Diabetes Nurse Educator and a Front-liner- Nurse Alfred.
